Cherrybaum grew up in a small village outside of the Truvarian forest. He spent his time taking apart and re-assembling old watches that he would find on his nightly clandestine trips into the city proper. His father was a simple farmer who worked until he died, and his mother died giving birth. He had one sibling who died when she was 11. The Bravorski's were the longest reigning dynasty in the history Sector 12's existence. Their nepotistic practices privileged only the wealthiest families, and it was from this tight-nit circle that Sector 12 derived order and control. Delilah Van Buren (nee Bravorski), took a liking to this boy and asked him to craft for her the most beautiful watch that had ever been seen.

Tirelessly, Cherrybaum worked, sourcing the finest materials from all over the planet. When he finished, he presented the watch to Delilah, but she said she had seen a more beautiful watch. In the end, Bravorski accepted the watch, but had never again asked of Cherrybaum services again. Still, his efforts were taken into consideration, and she instructed her sister to marry Cherrybaum. As he grew older, he turned from watch making to engineering, and became the finest military engineer in Sector 12.

“Your answer, General?” He began to say something, and then stopped himself. “I love you, Delilah.” As he spoke these words, a booming sound erupted from down below, on the plateau.
