Getting Your Pup Used to a Flight-approved Carrier- Planning on your dog's first airplane flight? Just like the pilots, the flying dogs have to go to flight school. Buy the airline approved dog carrier far in advance and then use the carrier to transport your dog to happy destinations: the dog park, his play date, the doggy bakery boutique. Slowly increase time in the carrier during longer and longer transport. And praise, praise, praise.
